Leafs winger suffers unfortunate injury after scary collision
The Toronto Maple Leafs had forward Calle Jarnkrok for five and a half games after he returned from a broke knuckle at the beginning of March. Midway through the second period of tonight's game against the Philadelphia Flyers, Jarnkrok left the game with an apparent shoulder injury.
The injury occurred when he dove to tip a puck into the Flyers zone. Jarnkrok crashed hard into the boards, shoulder-first, and remained down on the ice for a few moments. After being attended to by the Leafs training staff, Jarnkrok left the ice holding his left arm against his body.
Jarnkrok did not return for the third period with many speculating it is likely a shoulder injury. In 51 games with the Leafs this season he has 10 goals and 21 points.
