The Toronto Maple Leafs have announced that legend Larry McIntyre has passed away.

The Maple Leafs had the unfortunate duty of announcing the news of the 75-year-old McIntyre's passing on Tuesday afternoon, less than 24 hours after their 4-1 win over the Chicago Blackhawks.

The Leafs Alumni shared the sad news on X:

''We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Larry McIntyre

Larry played 41 games with the
@MapleLeafs between 1970-1973

Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this time''

A native of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, McIntyre played 41 games for the Maple Leafs from 1970 to 1973, amassing 3 assists in that span. He was drafted by the Leafs in the 3rd round, 31st overall, in the 1969 NHL Amateur Draft.

Condolences go out to Larry's family, friends and fans during this difficult time.

The Maple Leafs are set to return to action on Wednesday, when they will face the Nashville Predators at Scotiabank Arena.

One key storyline for this one is the return of Ryan Reaves from suspension, with the 37-year-old expected to slot back in with Alex Nylander coming out of the lineup.
