The Maple Leafs are in Edmonton tonight to take on the Oilers.

Every time these two teams will meet over the next decade plus, the main storyline will be Auston Matthews vs Connor McDavid.

The back-to-back number one overall picks have been tremendous since the first day they stepped on to the NHL ice.

Both young stars currently lead their teams in goals and points. While the Oilers have been struggling all season long, it isn't because of McDavid. Better get used to that!

Although Matthews skated with Mitch Marner during Wednesday's practice, it is likely that Mike Babcock will start with the lines we saw open up against the Calgary Flames Tuesday night.

Matthews missed today's morning skate, but he will be good to go tonight.

The Maple Leafs will catch a break as the Oilers put starting goaltender Cam Talbot on injured reserve today with an upper-body injury.

Laurent Brossoit will start in his place tonight and as you can see from his numbers below, he should not strike fear into the Leafs goal scorers.
