Tavares was first to speak on Monday, emphatically stating that he believes his team is "right there" in terms of competing for a Stanley Cup, despite having won just 1 round during his entire 6-year tenure, and losing in the first round in 7 of the last 8 years.
The Leafs' captain also touched on his desire to remain in Toronto beyond this coming season, though he admittedly has not yet begun preliminary talks with the Leafs about what a new deal might look like if he opts to sign an extension on July 1st.
Mitch Marner also revealed that he has every intention of signing an extension in Toronto when the time comes, despite several rumours having surfaced about his standing with the team and the idea that he might be moved this summer as the team looks to adjust the roster to try to find a winning formula.
Tyler Bertuzzi was the third Leaf of the day to come out and state that he's open to returning next season, provided an extension can be reached. Bertuzzi revealed on Monday that his family has enjoyed their time in Toronto, so that certainly bodes well for the Leafs in negotiations.
More information on these 3 and others as the news continues to trickle in today and this week. Brad Treliving is going to be a busy guy this summer yet again.
