Popular Toronto Maple Leafs analyst Steve Dangle deep fried Max Domi following reported contract projection to keep him in Toronto.

Over the weekend, TSN's Pierre LeBrun released an update about a number of potential free agents, with two being Tyler Bertuzzi and Max Domi. In his piece, he discussed possible numbers and what players could seek on the open market. When discussing Domi, he noted that the Leafs and Domi's camp had preliminary discussions but that no numbers were exchanged. He then said that he believes Domi could fetch somewhere between $5M and $6M on a long-term deal.

LeBrun's take on what Domi could get seemed to be misunderstood by SDPN's and former Sportsnet personality Steve Dangle.

"The unfair part is, they shouldn't have to deal with my, and a lot of the fanbase's resentment towards players squeezing the Leafs for every dollar. You know what is his fault and his camp's fault?" asked Dangle. "This year-long propaganda campaign about 'Man, I love it here and I want to be here forever. Don't you remember who my dad is and here is a video of me on the ice, go Leafs go. Six mil in my palm long-term!'"

Many Leaf fans are hopeful that Domi and for that matter, Bertuzzi re-sign in Toronto, but if Domi is seeking money over term, it remains unlikely given the Leafs' cap situation and the need to spend the cap space they have on the blueline. However, if he chooses stability, as many have suggested, a long-term deal for him to return is not out of the question at all, it is just about finding a number that works for him and the organization.
