The Toronto Maple Leafs and general manager Kyle Dubas didn't waste anytime yesterday. Just a little while after the Leafs and forward Ilya Mikheyev's arbitration numbers leaked, the two sides came to an agreement on a new deal. A deal that was far off what Mikheyev was looking for but still better than what the Leafs had originally presented. On Wednesday, Mikheyev's agent, Dan Milstein, explained that Mikheyev was doing the Leafs' a huge favour with the contract. «Ilya decided to step off a little bit from an already agreed number to help the team fit under the cap,» Mikheyev's agent, Dan Milstein, told Sportsnet after tweeting news of the signing Tuesday night.«For Ilya, it was less about the money, but more about the role in the organization. He wishes to win the Stanley Cup. It's been a lifelong dream.»What do you make of this?
