"The busy of summer of general manager Kyle Dubas is officially underway. With the St. Louis Blues raising the Stanley Cup, the offseason is started and we've already seen the Philadelphia Flyers and Washington Capitals swap defenseman. While Dubas is expected to keep core pieces around, he's expected to swap a lot of the supporting pieces to make roster and salary cap space. It should come as no surprise that Pierre LeBrun Tweeted out on Friday that Dubas is trying to trade goalie Garret Sparks at the moment. Sparks was basically kicked off the team at the end of the year and was kept away from the team for the majority of the time building up to the playoffs. He's got one year left on his contract at $750k before becoming UFA.
Hearing from a few sources that the Maple Leafs have quietly been shopping Garret Sparks. The backup goalie, 25, has one year left on his deal paying him $750k. — Pierre LeBrun (@PierreVLeBrun) June 14, 2019
