Spittin Chiclets co-host Paul Bissonnette shared some exciting news on Maple Leafs superstar Auston Matthews ahead of Game 7.

Popular media personality and co-host of the Spittin Chiclets podcast Paul Bissonnette appears to have gotten some inside information from his connections in the business. It is positive news for Leafs Nation. According to Bissonnette, the Core Four will be assembling tonight, alluding to Matthews' imminent return. This will be the second time Toronto has had Tavares, Nylander, Marner and Matthews all in the lineup at the same time since Game 4, which Matthews exited after the second period.

Matthews took part in the morning skate with his teammates in preparation of tonight's Game 7. He looked sharp, showing no signs of any ailments. Matthews had his patented wrister going, as he was seen snapping shots with precision, which bodes well for the Leafs.

As an additional piece of information, Elliotte Friedman is reporting that Matthews showed up on the first bus with the rest of the regulars, so there could be something to Bissonnette's report.

The Leafs have clawed back in the series after falling behind 3-1 in Game 4, winning both of the last two elimination games without Matthews in the lineup. The wins came from solid defensive efforts and stellar goaltending from rookie Joseph Woll.

A Matthews appearance in Game 7 could drastically improve Toronto's chances to get past Boston and set up the grudge match with Florida in Round 2.
