Steve Dangle originally made a name for himself in the hockey media industry via his personal YouTube account, which he used to create Leafs fan reaction videos for the past 16 seasons, which he dubbed "LFR".
Now a well-established name in the business, Dangle and two of his closest friends, Jesse Blake and Adam Wylde, have branched out and started the Steve Dangle Podcast Network, which is home to the Steve Dangle Podcast.
Earlier this year, during an episode, Blake actually revealed one of the craziest facts about the Maple Leafs' playoff history. The team has never won more than two playoff rounds in the history of the organization.
I am astounded that this team hasn't fluked their way into 3 playoff series wins at least once. Yes, they've been close on multiple occasions, but they simply cannot seem to get over the hump, which doesn't exactly help to manufacture any confidence in the organization when the games start to matter in April, May and June.
The silver-lining here is that the Maple Leafs have a new CEO over at MLSE in Keith Pelley, who has made it very clear that this organization is fully committed to winning. We know that Maple Leafs president and alternate governor Brendan Shanahan is heading into his final season of his current contract, and so the stakes have never been higher for him.
Could this finally be the year that the Leafs break through, win an Eastern Conference title and move onto the Stanley Cup Final? All we can do is hope.
