After skating in the "Hockey Night in Brampton" charity game on Wednesday, which raised $14M for Brampton's 2nd hospital, Marner hopped on a flight to Minnesota to reunite with his former teammate Holl. The pair took on the Minnesota State fair and came away as big winners according to Justin's partner, Audrey Holl, who posted Marner and Holl posing with some massive stuffed animals.
Holl and Marner's friendship can be traced back to the their early days with the organization. While Holl didn't make his Leafs debut until the 2017-18 season, he and Marner became very close over the years. Although Holl left Toronto last off-season when he signed a 3-year, $10.2M deal with the Detroit Red Wings, the pair have been seen at various cottages, weddings and events together.
Holl will look to rebound from a horrendous first season in Detroit that saw him be a healthy scratch for more than half of the season. Marner, on the other hand, will be looking to put the negative aspects of another poor playoff performance behind him in the hopes of signing a massive extension with the Leafs or somewhere else as a free agent as he enters the final year of his 6-year deal that will pay him just shy of $11M.
