"The Toronto Maple Leafs were the first team to make a significant roster move after leaving the bubble and we've heard that they'll continue to be busy and they might have already found their new trade partner. According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, one team is ringing down Kyle Dubas' phone for goalie Frederik Andersen.
Friedman reports that the Carolina Hurricanes are looking for a possible Frederik Andersen trade. The insider adds that the Leafs' are only willing to move Andersen if they already have a solution lined up, which might have to wait until free agency.Andersen carries a modified no trade clause which allows him to carry a 10 team no trade list.Nick Kypreos had stated just a couple of weeks ago that Andersen had played his last game in a Leafs' uniform. If it's a salary dump, the Carolina Hurricanes have the Leafs 2020 first round pick however it's their only first round pick after trading theirs to the Rangers for defenseman Brady Skjei. Another reason Carolina will need a player involved is because they only have $9million in cap space for next season at the moment. Brett Pesce, Jacob Slavin, Brady Skjei and Jake Gardiner are all signed long term however Dougie Hamilton only has 1 year left and comes with a $5.75million cap hit compared to Andersen's $5million. Carolina has both James Reimer and Petr Mrazek signed for next year.
