While the Toronto Maple Leafs are off to a pretty solid start to the season, it seems that general manager Kyle Dubas is determined to make a trade. Most reports indicate that the Leafs are looking to land some depth up front even if it means having to give up one of their defensemen. We've heard the names Travis Dermott and Mikko Lehtonen thrown around as possible bait and it seems that the Pittsburgh Penguins might interested in one. According to NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, the Penguins have called the Leafs a couple of times regarding Dermott. Obviously those talks might have to get put on hold for a bit as the Penguins search for a new general manager. While the Penguins don't have the biggest depth up front they definitely do have a couple of names that could interest the Leafs. One name that we've heard before is Jared McCann. The 6'1 185lb forward could be a nice fit on the Leafs. It'll be an interesting story to follow over the coming weeks.
