"The KHL always has a couple of players that draw some big interest from the NHL. While some of them or actually a lot of them become a bust, some of them become valuable everyday NHLers. Toronto Maple Leafs' general manager Kyle Dubas has spent a lot of time over the last month scouting some KHL players including Mikhail Grigorenko and Nikita Nesterov. Now, according to Chris Johnston of Sportsnet, the Leafs and Montreal Canadiens are in a bit of a bidding war for one upcoming free agent forward. Johnston reports that both teams are pushing hard to land Konstantin Okulov. The 24 year old is currently playing for CSKA Moscow with Habs' prospect Alexander Romanov. "Konstantin Okulov he is one of the big Russian free agents, a guy in the KHL that teams are keeping an eye on,"Johnston said. «Other teams believe that Montreal and Toronto are the two favourites for this forward who's playing with Red Army this season,» said Johnston. «Some of these teams are, you know, wondering if it's even worth engaging with his camp about trying to bring him over next season.» Okulov played a big part in Moscow grabbing the Gagarin Cup last year after he put up 20 goals in 48 games last year. Do you think he could help the Leafs?
