The Toronto Maple Leafs are trying to fight their way into a playoff spot but still need some help on the blueline to make a serious push. The problem is that the Leafs don't have much to give up for a reliable defenseman and teams apparently only want one thing. According to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet and James Mirtle of The Athletic, teams are circling over the Maple Leafs hoping they can land Kasperi Kapanen. Kapanen has bounced around in the lineup this season but still has eight goals in 34 games so far this season. The 23 year old has a very attractive contract as he'll have two years left after this season at $3.2million a year before he becomes a restricted free agent during the summer of 2022.Pierre Engvall, Alexander Kerfoot and Ilya Mikheyev are cheaper and could make people forget about Kapanen according to Mirtle. Would you be willing to sacrifice Kapanen for a defenseman?
