With Timothy Liljegren and Nick Robertson listed as RFAs this summer, one Maple Leafs reporter has revealed what their next deals may look like in Toronto.

The Athletic's Joshua Kloke has delved into some potential numbers and comparables for Robertson and Liljegren this week, but with just under $20M in available cap space this summer, we know that there will be some changes coming for the Leafs. Whether or not those changes involve either of Liljegren or Robertson remains to be seen.

Assuming the Leafs plan to bring back both players, the question then becomes, do they try to extend them to multi-year deals, or just shorter deals in the 1-2 year range just to punt things down the road to deal with these contracts when they have more available cap space?

Kloke listed Liljegren's comparables (at the same points in their respective careers) as Vince Dunn, Erik Brannstrom, Martin Fehervary, Erik Cernak and Ryan Lindgren. Depending on term, Liljegren could earn between $1.8M-$3M per season, according to Kloke.

When discussing Robertson, Kloke pinpointed Gabe Vilardi, Kailer Yamamoto, Anthony Duclair and Andreas Athanasiou as his potential comparables, putting his projected cap hit on his next deal in the neighborhood of $825K-$1.378M.

Obviously, we'll see where this goes, but the goal here from the Leafs' staff is to keep the numbers as low as possible. If he can keep the pair of RFAs for a combined cap hit of under $3M, I think that's certainly a win, given what both players can provide.
