While his fellow HNIC panel members looked on in confusion and tried to maintain their composure, MacLean went on a rant about a dress shop that former NHLer an long-time NHL coach Glen Sather's mom used to own in Wainwright, Alberta, where McMann is from. All the while, McMann looked at the camera silently while MacLean essentially hi-jacked his interview.
MacLean is catching a lot of flack for this on social media at the moment, with many suggesting that it may finally be time for him to step away from the Hockey Night in Canada broadcast in favour of someone who can make the show a little more entertaining.
For McMann, I'm sure he didn't mind, as the win was what was most important for him, but still - standing there awkwardly while MacLean spoke of haberdashery and dress shops in Wainwright must have been a unique experience for the first-year NHLer.
