Hours after being fired by the Toronto Maple Leafs, Sheldon Keefe is reportedly set to interview for the New Jersey Devils vacant head coach position.
The Toronto Maple Leafs relieved Sheldon Keefe of his coaching duties earlier this morning and after posting a video statement to 'X', in which Keefe said he was 'forever grateful' for the opportunity, it would appear that there is already a new opportunity waiting for him.
Although Keefe said he wanted to spend some time with his family, it may not be much time as TSN's Pierre LeBrun has indicated that Keefe is at the top of the list for the New Jersey Devils as they look to fill their vacant coaching position.
Earlier this week, it was reported by multiple people that although Craig Berube was at the top of the Leafs' list if they were to fire Keefe, he may not be around long enough for them to hire him. Those reports indicated that he was very high on the Devils' list and it now appears that the Devils know the Leafs are the front-runners for Berube's services and have turned their attention to Keefe.
While many Leaf fans wanted Keefe fired, there was a large contingent of fans that wanted to keep him and those that wanted to keep him believe that he will have plenty of success on another team.
