Additionally, the Leafs also got some good news up front as David Kampf joined the team after missing last week with an undisclosed injury. Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe told reporters last week that Kampf was dealing with some sort of issue, but did not specify what it was and mentioned that he was farther along in recovery due to the team's bye week.
In returning to practice, Kampf took his place on the fourth line where he centered Ryan Reaves and Pontus Holmberg, who had been centering the line with Reaves and Bobby McMann while Kampf was sidelined. McMann appears to be the odd man out for Tuesday's game.
While Kampf returns to the lineup for McMann, Keefe has left the rest of the forward lines unchanged. Given that the Leafs finally got some secondary scoring from other forwards on Saturday, it makes sense to leave them be in the hopes that guys like Matthew Knies and Max Domi can build on solid performances from the weekend.
