The Toronto Maple Leafs started the season off on the right foot with a 2-1 win against the Montreal Canadiens at home. While it wasn't always pretty, the Leafs got it done and didn't give up the lead after grabbing it early in the third. Jack Campbell was one of the big stars of the game as he made big save after big save and especially came through during the opening minutes of the game with some really big saves that made it possible for the Leafs to get a W. A quiet star of the game was new addition David Kampf who showed why he's such a great defensive player which included shining during a total of 4 minutes of short handed action. After the game head coach Sheldon Keefe explained why Kampf will be so important to the team this year and why he loves him.«It's a great tool for us,» Keefe said of the Kampf addition. «That's why we were really happy to be able to add him. He's a unique player for us. He's got a different skill set than a lot of our guys.»Keefe wasn't the only one with praise for Kampf as he also got some post game from Justin Holl. «He's great on draws, he's super smart, always in the right spot, great stick …» Do you think Kampf will be one of the unsung heroes of the Leafs' season?
