"After a great run by the Toronto Maple Leafs, things fell apart defensively on Monday night. The team lost a shootout to the Edmonton Oilers by a score of 6-4 and we saw some of the Leafs' old bad habits kick in again. After 21 minutes of play and three goals on 19 shots, head coach Sheldon Keefe decided to pull starting goalie Frederik Andersen and send in Michael Hutchinson. Hutchinson didn't do much better as he gave up three goals on 16 shots for a .813 save percentage during his time on the ice. Keefe explained his reasoning for pulling Freddy and it had more to do with the team in front of him. "Before I did, I just told our team, 'I'm not going to let Freddie play behind that.' That's not fair to him. Before that, it felt like he had already had almost a full game's worth of work."
Toronto hosts the Winnipeg Jets on Wednesday night.
