The NHL has never taken it easy when it comes to the Leafs. Not only are the suspensions more frequent and longer in Toronto than they are with other teams around the league, but apparently the Leafs are more prone to fines as well.

After a phantom trip was called on Mitch Marner during the late stages of a 6-2 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday, Sheldon Keefe found himself, once again, locking horns with the officials over the call. Only this time, Keefe was ejected for telling referee Garrett Rank that he mad a bad call and that the Golden Knights player had fallen over his own two feet. Now, Keefe is once again going to have to cut a cheque for $25K, as the league has officially fined him for his behaviour.

The news comes just moments after the league also announced a fine for Sabres head coach, Don Granato, also for $25K for "unprofessional conduct directed at the officials".

How many times is this league going to allow the officials to be willfully incompetent with zero recourse, but then turn around and fine coaches for pointing out their incompetence? Just an embarrassing look for the league, to be honest.
