"When you think of Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Mike Babcock, many think of how he's a world respected hockey coach, however it doesn't look like Toronto Sun reporter Steve Simmons feels that way.Simmons says that Babcock is absolutely wasting Auston Matthews skills. He points to Matthews 5v5 production and the fact that he's being given very small opportunity on the powerplay. The reporter mentions that Matthews not being a bigger factor on the powerplay seemingly less important than Nazem Kadri, Tyler Bozak and Mitch Marner is simply illogical. Matthews is ranked 201st in the league in regards to powerplay ice time, hovering around JT Miller and Danton Heinen. Just simply not enough ice time to put up the numbers he should. Snipers like Stamkos, Laine and Malkin all have more than 10 power play goals while Matthews has two. Simmons points out it absolutely makes no sense that Matthews sits with Kucherov and Ovechkin as the leagues leading goal scores, but averages only two minutes of power play time per game while those two average four. Do you think Babcock is holding back Matthews?
