"It's no secret, Steve Simmons of the Toronto Sun has a bone to pick with the Toronto Maple Leafs. He's consistently targeting the organization with harsh criticism sometimes wrong and sometimes right, however it's rare he ever has anything positive to say. Most famous for his Phil Kessel hot dog stories and revealing Auston Matthews has COVID-19, he's now taken another shot at general manager Kyle Dubas. Former Leafs' general manager Lou Lamoriello won the GM of the year award for his recent work with the New York Islanders and after a day of research, Simmons took his shot. The Sun reporter points out that for two years in a row, Dubas has yet to receive a vote for the award.
17 different NHL general managers received votes for the Jim Gregory GM of the Year Award the past two seasons. Kyle Dubas did not receive a single vote in either season. — steve simmons (@simmonssteve) September 14, 2020
