The Reason For Matthews Medical Procedure Explained.

"On Thursday, the Toronto Maple Leafs announced that forward Auston Matthews went through a medical procedure. Matthews had "surgical hardware" removed from a 2014 surgery, which is believed to be connected to a knee on knee hit. The Leafs explained the procedure wouldn't effect his offseason however some interesting info has been revealed. After the Leafs' released the info, NHL insider Pierre LeBrun added to it. LeBrun revealed that the procedure removed screws in his leg which were believed to be causing him back pain. Matthews' camp decided late in the season the procedure would be done hoping the pain will disappear. However considering Matthews' injury history, some believe they'll be strong concerns about his future if that pain doesn't disappear. It's going to be a very interesting story line to follow next season.
