"The Toronto Maple Leafs have had some injuries this season but have been able to battle through it. It was mostly support players until Frederik Andersen got hit with the injury bug and now forward Auston Matthews might be next. Matthews has been dealing with a wrist injury all season and it really got aggravated against Calgary where head coach Sheldon Keefe couldn't even start him for the overtime because he didn't want Matthews taking a faceoff. Now there's some slight concern on if he'll play Saturday. NHL insider Darren Dreger provided an update on the injury and here's his key points.- not structural issue; more about soreness
- don't be surprised if he doesn't practice Friday
- expectation is he'll play on Saturday vs. EDMSo while it's nothing to drastic that would see him miss an extended period of time, maybe some quick rest would be beneficial.
