VIDEO: Gardiner Has Tears In Eyes During Postgame Scrum.
"The Toronto Maple Leafs' season is over, and even though the team hung around and were leading at times throughout the game, they just couldn't close the deal. After the game a lot of fingers were pointed at Leafs defenseman Jake Gardiner as he finished with a -5 rating. It wasn't just fingers pointed at Gardiner as he received death threats and millions of insults on social media after the game, but it's not like the Leafs defenseman didn't hold himself accountable. Gardiner said "most" of the loss was on him and he stated that he failed to show up, all while holding back tears in his eyes.
