While the Coyotes thumped the Hawks on the scoresheet, it was Blackhawks forward and ex-Leaf Nick Foligno who took some of his frustrations out on Liam O'Brien, who appeared to jump Foligno in the altercation.
Despite O'Brien being the clear instigator here, the Hawks were not awarded a power play, which was extremely frustrating for both Foligno and Hawks head coach Luke Richardson. As you can clearly see above, Foligno attempted multiple times to get around O'Brien and continue playing, and it was O'Brien who threw off his gloves first. Nevertheless, it was Foligno who emerged from the scrap victorious, as is evidenced by O'Brien's shiner, depicted below:
The Hawks are now 3-6-0 on the season, sitting dead last in the Central Division, while the Coyotes move to 4-4-0, good for 5th in the division, with a game in hand over the Hawks.
