Funny fight ends with no punches landed and two combatants accidentally taking out a referee
Every fan has high expectations for a hockey fight. Being the only major sport where fighting occurs, it always brings fans to the edge of their seats watching two players duke it out. When this fight began in a recent AHL game, it didn't live up to fans' expectations - but maybe cemented itself as the funniest fight of all time.
In a game between the Grand Rapids Griffins and Texas Stars, Griffins' captain Josiah Didier grabbed the Stars' Frederik Karlstrom for a fight that never even started before it was over.
Karlstrom wiped out as he grabbed Didier, taking the nearby referee down with him. While on the ice, Karlstrom knocks Didier's leg and takes him down as well. After the awkward spill, the referees quickly broke things up and thus ended perhaps the funniest "fight" of the season.
