As the hockey community continues to debate the booing of the U.S. National Anthem at hockey games in Canada, an American player is siding with those choosing to boo.

While the buzz surrounding the 4 Nations Face-Off was already high, the current relationship between the U.S. and Canada has ramped up debate in the hockey community.
Multiple prolific figures in hockey slammed fans in Montreal for booing the U.S. National Anthem ahead of a game between USA and Finland on Thursday night, but another hockey player, an American, has offered some interesting perspective on those actions.
Cam Robinson, Content Director and Director of Film Scouting at Elite Prospects, told social media followers that he recently had a conversation with an American hockey player, who wished to remain anonymous, and he expressed his dislike of the booing of his country's anthem.
However, Robinson asked him what he thought of the U.S. President's continued belittling of Canada's Prime Minster and musings about absorbing the country, and the anonymous player seemed to have a moment of clarity.
"Yeah, when you look it at from that side, I wouldn't like another country threatening to swallow up mine (country). Especially one as big as the U.S.. Would probably do more than boo an anthem..."
The PA announcer will likely again ask for no booing on Saturday night when Team Canada and Team USA go head-to-head at the Bell Centre in Montreal, and it's a safe bet that many in both countries will be paying close attention to the reaction that gets.
There will likely never be 100 percent agreement on either side of the border over whether the booing is warranted, or simply disrespectful. However, should the situation continue to escalate, it's likely to get much louder.

Are Canadians justified in booing the U.S. National Anthem at a hockey game given the things the U.S. President continues to say about Canada?
