Evander Kane may be one of the most polarizing players in the NHL, but nobody ever likes to see someone suffer the type of injury that Kane did during the 2nd period of the Oilers' game against the Lightning in Tampa.

Following a play in which Kane was taken down hard, Lightning winger Pat Maroon accidently clipped Kane's exposed wrist with his skate, causing a deep laceration and a whole lot of panic. Blood immediately began to pool on the ice and Kane, in obvious pain, skated to the bench trying to put pressure on the wound himself to stop the bleeding, pleading for help.

The following clip may make you squeamish, so if you have a weak stomach, you may not want to watch this one.

Following the incident, when the trainer ushered Kane into the dressing room, TSN's Gene Principe reported that he heard screams for help coming from the room. Absolutely horrifying stuff. We'll provide an update as soon as one becomes available.
