Sheldon Keefe confirmed following practice on Tuesday that one of the Leafs' forwards will miss some time due to injury
Noel Acciari was a surprise absentee at practice this afternoon for the Leafs. His absence left many speculating who the unnamed player was skating on a line with Zach Aston-Reese and Sam Lafferty. The unnamed player ended up being Owen Robinson from the University of Toronto Men's Hockey Team.
Following practice, Sheldon Keefe provided an update on Acciari's status. Keefe said that Acciari is listed as day-to-day currently, but confirmed that he will not be playing in the Leafs' upcoming game against Florida. Keefe also confirmed that because of Acciari's absence, the Leafs will be using the 11 forward and 7 defenseman setup that he has received lots of criticism for lately as he tries to find the right combinations on the blueline.
Keefe did not provide any information as to whether Acciari's injury is related to the hit he took against Carolina or if it is something knew. To that effect, we are unaware of whether it is an upper-body or lower-body injury - just that he's day-to-day.
