After a deal between the New Jersey Devils and Calgary Flames fell through at the trade deadline for Jacob Markstrom, Markstrom now appears set to join the Devils.
The initial trade reportedly fell apart at the trade deadline after Markstrom agreed to waive his no-movement clause. Travis Yost has reported today that the two teams have now agreed on terms of trade that will see the 34-year-old join former Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe in New Jersey. Daily FaceOff's Frank Seravalli confirmed Yost's initial findings.
Markstrom has two years left on his current deal that carries a $6M cap hit and solidifies New Jersey's goaltending position as Markstrom will work with Jake Allen.
The return for Calgary will be defenseman Kevin Bahl and a 2025 1st round draft pick.
