Early this morning, the heartbreaking reports from last night were confirmed when the Columbus Blue Jackets and the NHL released statements confirming the sudden and tragic passing of Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau.
According to 6 ABC, a drunk driver struck and killed the two brothers as they were cycling. The vehicle was attempting to pass an SUV when it struck Johnny and Matthew. According to reports, the brothers, along with the rest of the family, were set to celebrate their sister's wedding this weekend.
Matthew leaves behind his wife, Madeline, while Johnny leaves behind his wife, Meredith, and their two young children, Noa and Johnny Jr., who was born just this past February. Both leave behind their parents, Guy and Jane, and sisters Kristen and Katie.
