The disconnect between team and player led to Nashville giving Barrie permission in early December to seek out a trade. Unfortunately for Barrie, nothing has materialized as of yet. In 31 games, Barrie has scored 1 goal and 11 points while averaging 18:09 in ice time. This is his lowest average ice time since his rookie season in 2011-12, when he had a cameo ten games in the league.
As his minutes are getting slashed, Barrie may be pondering what he would like to do after hockey. The BC native may have taken a step towards that by announcing that he is creating his own beer brand called 'Chilly One's Beer'. In a very classy move, he will be donating 10% of sales to charity.
