Newly-minted Nashville Predator Steven Stamkos flexes his superhuman memory, leaving the Nashville media stunned and in disbelief.
Earlier this week, we got our first glimpse of Stamkos in his new Nashville Predators gear, as the two-time Stanley Cup champion arrived in Nashville for his first photo op and media session with the team, just a couple of short weeks after signing his 4-year, $32M deal with the Preds.
Stamkos came to Nashville with more than just 2 Cup rings and 555 career goals. He also brought with him his unbelievable memory, which Nashville beat reporter Alex Daugherty put to the test during the session, asking Stamkos to recount one very specific goal, which was scored multiple years ago. Stamkos revealed details about the goal without hesitation, much to the surprise of everyone present.
Stamkos became known for this unique skill during his time in Tampa. His ability to quickly recall details about goals he had scored in his career was not limited to just big goals in big games either. In fact, when reporters had given Stamkos a date and an opponent, Stammer was able to recall the actual game situation and the teammates who were involved in the play.
It will take some getting used to, seeing Stamkos in yellow and navy blue this season, but even at 34, the veteran forward can still put the puck in the net with the best of them, as evidenced by his 40-goal campaign in 2023-24.
