Matt Murray hasn't played since the middle of January due to an ankle injury he aggravated during warmup as he prepared to face his old team the Ottawa Senators. Since, it has been a long road of recovery for Murray who took part in his first team practice in more than a month yesterday.

"Something that had been bugging me for a little bit that I had been dealing with & then just kind of tweaked it & it kind went over the edge ... It got to a point where I felt like I'd be hurting the team being in there," said Murray of how the injury occurred. "I feel good & whenever the medical team as well as the coaching staff tells me I'm ready to go then I'll be ready to go," continued Murray as he was asked about his recovery.

It sounds like he and Sheldon Keefe are on the same page in terms of his recovery as Keefe echoed Murray's comments saying, "Just continue to get him out there & put him in different situations. He's feeling good. It is just a matter of ensuring things don't flare up or get worse or anything like that. Now, we are just looking to increase his workload."

Murray will be joining the team on their five-game road-trip that begins tonight in Seattle and is eligible to play as early as Wednesday.
