The past decade-plus has been unfathomable for former Chicago Blackhawks prospect Kyle Beach, who had to endure an unthinkable injustice and then have his team and his league fail him in a variety of ways and essentially forcing him to suffer in silence for so long.

This past year, Beach came forward as "John Doe 1" in a lawsuit against the Blackhawks after being allegedly sexually assaulted by a Blackhawks video coach, Brad Aldrich, during the team's 2010 Stanley Cup run. Beach was a member of the Hawks' "Black Aces", a group of reserve players who was with the team on their Cup run. This group of players would have been on the short list of call-ups if needed.

After he came forward, Beach was met with an enormous amount of support from the hockey community and eventually reached an undisclosed settlement with the Hawks. Since that time, an enormous amount of healing has taken place and Beach is reportedly in a much better head space.

What's more is that Beach is ready to take the next step in his hockey career - this time, behind the bench. The now 32-year-old has reportedly accepted a coaching job, the first of his career, with Trinity Western University.

All the best to Kyle in this next chapter of his life. This truly is a wonderful turn of events and hopefully the healing can continue for the Kelowna, BC native.
