At the time, Sheldon Keefe said he would be reevaluated, and while no news has been announced regarding his condition over the last day or so, Leaf fans were greeted with good news this morning. Liljegren was on the ice for the game-day skate in Washington. It's great news for the Leafs as it appears Liljegren won't be sidelined for an extended period.
Liljegren has been arguably the Leafs' best defenseman since Morgan Rielly went down with an injury last month. Paired with Rasmus Sandin, the two have grown exponentially since the start of the season and they have looked excellent playing together at the NHL level, no doubt a byproduct of having played so well together at the AHL level in previous seasons.
