Matthews and the Leafs are back in action tonight in Toronto when they play host to the always dangerous New York Rangers, who are 7-2-1 in their last 10 games. Eyes are sure to be on Matthews, as they often are, but for tonight's game, our ears will be on him too, as the reigning league MVP is slated to be wired up for the NHL on TNT coverage.
For those of us who are in Ontario and may not have access to the NHL on TNT feed, no worries! Apparently, according to Sports Illustrated's David Alter, the Sportsnet will also have access to some clips of Matthews all wired up.
Matthews is having himself another solid season, having posted 53 points in 46 games, but after scoring 60 last season, he's surprisingly not his team's goal scoring leader this season. Matthews has potted 25 this year, a short ways back of his 33 goals at the same point last season. Meanwhile, William Nylander leads the Leafs with 26 goals in what is his second consecutive breakout season. He's on pace for nearly 100 points and Matthews is not far behind.
