Avs fans shower Nazem Kadri with support amid racism, threats of violence
After a hostile environment in game 4 for Kadri, not only from Blues players but from their fans, Kadri and the Avs returned home for game 5 to an overwhelming amount of support. Not only were Blues fans voicing their feeling towards Kadri in the arena for game 4, but prior to that a select amount decided it would be appropriate to send racial messages to Kadri and his family on social media.
Kadri's wife shared some of those messages after game 4, and to say they were offside is an understatement. A silver lining to the images shared by Kadri's wife is that many of the people in those screenshots have been reported to their employers or schools and are facing discipline for their poor actions.
Returning for game 5 in Denver, Avs fans covered the glass with signs showing support for Kadri, many of them saying «We (or I) Stand With Naz» during warm ups. What Kadri has gone through this past week shows the league and its fans are nowhere near making the game inviting for all to play and major changes still need to be made.
