This happened right in front of the official and no arm went up. As Seattle picked up the puck and went down the ice, MacKinnon got up and lost his cool, slamming his stick into the glass and berating the official. While doing so, it left the Avs shorthanded in their own zone and eventually led to Seattle scoring a goal which put them up 2-1 in the first.
Following the game, MacKinnon admitted he has to keep his cool in those types of situations saying, "I can't get upset. It's on me there." While admitting he lost his cool on the play, MacKinnon also laid into the officals regarding that play saying, "I get 5 feet on a guy, and he takes my feet out. I don't know what to do. It's not 1975. I feel like that's a trip."
Seattle went on to win the game 3-2 and take a 3-2 series lead heading back to Seattle for game 6 Friday night. The Avs will have some reinforcements for gmGame 6 as Cale Makar will return to the lineup after serving his one game suspension for his hit on Seattle's Jared McCann in Game 4.
