Well, Eberle was finally forced to answer the bell for the hit last night when the Avalanche took on the Kraken in Seattle. For the Avs, it was Logan O'Connor who drew the task of exacting his pound of flesh. Credit to Eberle, he took his lumps - and O'Connor didn't go easy on him either.
The idea of fighting in hockey is archaic to some. To others, it's just a part of the code. The Avalanche had a player go down and miss significant time because of an injury suffered on the hit. In their mind, Eberle had to answer for it. Now that he has, everyone can move on.
