Beer league game takes a turn for the worse as player breaks stick over opponent's face
Well all know how fun beer league hockey can be. We also know that there are those within the ranks of beer leagues who take the games a little too seriously. Such was the case in a beer league game in Regina, Saskatchewan.
During a game, two players from rival teams shared a heated exchange that led to the player in blue snapping his stick over the player in red. This should definitely result in a ban.
I can only imagine what the extent of the damage was in this case. Facial fractures, missing teeth, a concussion.. it's anyone's guess. All I know is that it was over the line. These games are strictly recreational and nobody needs to endure serious injuries just because another player can't control his temper.
