Blues Coach Craig Berube threw gas on the fire when he insinuated that Kadri had run Binnington intentionally, pointing to Kadri's reputation and his history of suspensions. It came as no surprise that Berube, who was once suspended during his playing days for calling an African American opponent a "monkey" refused to comment on the racist threats Kadri recieved after his comments.
The Blues came out in game 4 with a mission, it seems. David Perron in particular appeared to be doing everything he could to take Kadri out of the game. Starting with this altercation, which came shortly after Kadri scored his first goal of the game.
Both Buchnevich and Perron were penalized on the play, leading to an Avs 5 on 3. Kadri scored his second of the game just after the penalties expired. As he turned to celebrate, Perron narrowly missed his with a high, blindside hit.
Kadri would go on to finish off the hat trick and assist on Mikko Rantanen's empty net goal to seal the game. Kadri's second goal, scored seconds after a powerplay he drew, would stand as the game winner.
After the game, Kadri admitted that the disdain from some of the Blues fanbase was motivation for him. If I were Craig Berube, I would be issuing an apology and telling everyone to leave Kadri be. At this point all of the negative attention is going straight to Kadri's legs. I'm sure Kadri would like to do something that would land him yet another playoff suspension, but his new approach of simply scoring every time someone makes him angry is a much better way to deal with things.
