When asked about his belief in the team getting to the next step Giordano said, "I think it's easy when you're not part of it or looking from the outside. It's easy just to see the goals and the assists and the highlight-reel stuff that you see on TV, especially from our top guys. But when you get in here and you see day in and day outwhat the team puts in with work ethic in practice and gettingprepared for games. The organization as a whole I was obviously really impressed with. The detail that goes into little things like skill development and best being able to prepare the right way on and off the ice, I think is top notch. And on the ice, our top guys, I was really impressed with other leaders on our team. Putting the time and playing away from the puck and all those things that you don't see unless you watch closely. Happy to be here. Happy to be a part of it for another couple of years. Hopefully we can push this team to the next level."
I know the Leafs are not short on leadership, but adding a player of Giordano's character could go down as one of the best moves Kyle Dubas has ever made.
