Rask has not played since January 24th against the Anaheim Ducks in a 5-3 loss at TD Garden. Rask allowed 5 goals on 27 shots in the contest, posting an uncharacteristic .815 SV%. The 34-year-old has played 564 career NHL games, recording a 308-165-66 record. His career GAA is 2.28 and he also owns a .921 SV% over that span.
With Rask's retirement appearing increasingly likely, the Bruins will turn back to the tandem of Linus Ullmark and Jeremy Swayman in goal. Both netminders have shown the ability to steal games, so the Bruins appear to be in a good position in goal moving forward.
Rask was originally drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1st round (21st overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. Rask was traded to the Bruins in exchange for Andrew Raycroft before he ever had a chance to play a game as a Leaf.
All the best in your retirement, Tuukka!
