Bruce Cassidy was surprisingly let go by the Boston Bruins last week, after receiving a vote of confidence a few weeks prior. In his exit press conference he had confirmed that he was already in contact with numerous teams about their coaching vacancies.

A week later, per Kevin Weekes, Cassidy has found a new home and the Vegas Golden Knights have found a new Head Coach. The length of his contract is not known, but based on others around the league it will likely be a three year term to start. Cassidy will be Vegas' third coach in 6 years following Gerard Gallant (NYR) and Peter DeBoer (current frontrunner in Dallas). For a team and owner that wants to win a Stanley Cup, I'm not sure firing a coach every time the team faces adversity is the best thing to do, but to each their own I guess.

Cassidy brings a wealth of experience to Vegas, including a Stanley Cup Finals appearance with the Bruins in 2019. During his time with the Bruins, Cassidy made the playoffs in each of his 6 seasons, finishing no worse than fourth in the Atlantic division.
