Bruins fans may not like the latest news on David Pastrnak
It has been an intriguing off-season for the Bruins to say the least, starting with firing Bruce Cassidy just weeks after guaranteeing him his job was safe. Then it became a saga about David Pastrnak's contract extension and reports indicated that he wasn't thrilled about the firing of Cassidy.
Pastrnak, 26, skated in 72 games for the Bruins, notching 40 goals and 37 assists for 77 points last season. Now, according to Joe Haggerty of Boston Hockey Now, Pastrnak has said that he is taking the same approach as Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane in Chicago. He's going to wait and see how the start of the season plays out before deciding if he wants to sign an extension or not.
With training camp just over a week away and the Bruins starting the season without Brad Marchand and three of their top six defenseman, Pastrnak's decision could come very early into the year.
