We have officially reached outbreak status in Toronto, as the Leafs announced on Saturday evening that three addition players and a pair of coaches have entered COVID protocol.

Per the team's official Twitter account, defensemen T.J. Brodie and Travis Dermott, along with goaltender Jack Campbell were placed in protocol, as were head coach Sheldon Keefe and assistant coach Spencer Carbery.
That brings the grand total up to seven players and two coaches, and if what we've seen from other NHL teams is any indication, we could see more Leafs enter protocol over the weekend and into next week.
Between the 9 individuals with the big club and 10 players with the Marlies in protocol, it's clear now why the league had agreed to postpone the games against the Canucks on Saturday and the Kraken in Seattle on Sunday.
Unfortunately, this is probably going to get worse before it gets better, and it's way past time that the NHL steps in and announces a pause to the season while teams try to get these outbreaks under control.
