VANCOUVER, BC - The Toronto Maple Leafs will now lose out on 3 of 4 games on the Western road-trip due to the spike in players being added to COVID-19 protocol.
The Leafs were unable to play their Thursday night game in Calgary due to the depleted Flames roster being flooded with positive test results. The team will now turn back and head home, Per Elliotte Friedman.
The Leafs and Canucks combine for 10 players on the active protocol list as Wayne Simmonds and Jason Spezza entered protocol late Friday evening. The Pair joined Alex Kerfoot and John Tavares who were placed on the list Friday afternoon.
The Leafs will have to postpone their maiden voyage to Seattle and ride out the recent string of positives before getting their first crack at the Seattle Kraken.
